My Story and Calling
I had the privilege to grow up in an evangelical Christian family that put a lot of emphasis on seeking the truth in the Bible and cultivating a deep relationship with God. I was 8 or 9 when I started to make my faith my own and asked
Jesus to change me from the sin I saw in myself. Thus began an incredible journey of learning to rely on Him through suffering and sin, joy and disappointment.
When I was 10, my family and I traveled around the country in an RV in a trip that lasted 5 years. I had the amazing opportunity to see 49 states and experience different cultures and scenery.
I was 15 when our family moved back to Fallbrook, CA, where I live currently. My faith had weakened in the face of loneliness and unanswered questions, but around 17 I returned to walking with God when I realized that a life without him would mean a life that deeply hurt myself and others. During a lot of my life I had prayed for God to connect me with a community, and as a teenager I really saw him answer that prayer! He brought me some really amazing friends and I began to do ministry with them. We’d often help out at VBS, Awana, and other children’s ministries.
As I started college I had my sights set on becoming a commercial videographer. It paid well and I wanted to make enough money to have a comfortable life and have a family as soon as I could. But over the course of that year, God began
asking me a question. “Would you go into full-time ministry?” Eventually I heeded the call and stepped out in faith by focusing my video work on ministries. God has blessed me and brought me so many amazing projects and amazing people
since then, and I am so glad that I made that choice!
I love people and am always seeking to inspire my friends to connect with God and connect with other Christians. So as I’ve grown into my skills with video work, I’ve been thrilled to find out what a great tool media is to connect people with important causes. It’s the perfect way to inspire people to donate their time as a volunteer, provide for a ministry that they are excited about, or gain fresh encouragement from a timely reminder.
I love that I get a front row seat to see all the different ways God is working through his people, and I’m so grateful that He’s given me the ability to help equip the church for ministry!
