Ever since I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by life and all of its intricacies. Since I gave Jesus control of my life and behavior and started thinking about my future (the best decision I’ve ever made) when I was around 8 or 9, I’ve been curious about the lives of the people around me. 

Why were some people living happy fulfilling lives when they were older, and why did others seem to enter their twilight years bitter, angry, or filled with regret? Like Solomon asks in Ecclesiastes, what truly is the point of life? Why are we here? And how should we live?

God has given me the gift of several difficult trials early in life that infused me with a unique long-term perspective on life in my younger years. I didn’t want to waste my time here. I learned that serving God by diving into a relationship with him, living the way he leads us in scripture and by the Holy Spirit, and serving others is truly the most fulfilling and joy-filled way we can live our lives.

But how exactly does that look on a day-to-day basis? How does that affect who we marry, what career we have, or where we live?

These are the questions that jumped out at me in my teens and early twenties. Some of my friends didn’t care at all about involving God in their decisions. Others wanted to give God control of their lives, but only in certain areas. Still others were fully surrendered to God’s will, but confusion about how to follow God’s leading led to mistakes or difficult seasons. And some seemed to make decisions easily and simply in ways that honored God. I’ve been in every one of those positions, so in 2021 I decided to seek the truth on this huge topic. 

Can we trust God to make decisions for us? How do we give God control of areas that we want to hold on to? How do we make life decisions that honor God? How closely does God control our decisions?

I’m going on a journey to find the answers to these important questions. And I want to take you with me.

It’s my hope that as we look together at the stories of spiritually mature Christians living meaningful lives as well as God’s instruction through scripture, we’ll discover the truth!

Here’s a bit more about me…

I’m a 22-year-old San Diego CA based filmmaker who owns a small video production business that focuses on helping ministries and Christian organizations tell their stories through video. I’ve always loved using video as a way to convey ideas and stories in impactful ways. 

I grew up in a small evangelical Christian family that put a lot of emphasis on seeking the truth about biblical doctrine and cultivating a deep relationship with God. For most of my life I was homeschooled, but I also went to a charter school in high school, so I’m somewhat familiar with both cultures. I go to a non-denominational home church (though I’ve attended many different churches in my lifetime, from a small Calvary Chapel to a large mega-church). 

I’ve served for years in children’s ministry at summer camps, VBS, and outreach programs. I’ve also led and taught several Bible studies and started several small ministries with evangelistic and discipleship focuses.

I’m passionate about doing life God’s way and helping others along that path as well. Jesus is my Lord and Master who deserves to be served with my whole heart, my Savior who has taken my debt of sin on himself and given me the power to change, my Best Friend who always understands me, my Comforter who can help me get through ANY trial or tough decision, and my General in the fight against the enemy. He is my everything. 

As we dive into this complicated topic together, it’s my hope that he becomes YOUR everything as well!
